From sister site JLWranglerForums Photos show a redesigned handle that is longer and sleeker and eschews the traditional push-button for a pull-style handle. It’s a new part that we’ve seen before of course — revealed just days ago in the JLU body-in-white photos of the JLU which included a look at the tailgate pull handle. Nevertheless, this latest glimpse of the JLU prototype provides further confirmation that the passenger doors will also utilize the slimmer and buttonless door pull handles, and one very likely to be shared with the 2019 JT Scrambler pickup.
I still kinda hate that lock as it tends to collect road/trail grime etc. However I haven't had any issue with them working as a lock, so the concept of "if it ain't broke..." has a bit more weight I guess even for myself, versus making it more flush mounted. As mentioned in the other thread, improved one handed use from not having to depress the big open-sesame-button will be great appreciated when trying to open the doors with an arm-load of gear.
